Cacik is a traditional Turkish dip made with yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and herbs. It is light, refreshing, and perfect as a side dish or dip for bread, meat, or vegetables. I hope you like it as much as we do!
2small garlic cloves, peeled and finely mincedyou can add less or more garlic depending on your taste preferences.
1teaspoon dry mince
1-2tablespoonsfreshly squeezed lemon juiceapproximately ½ a lemon
sea salt to season
1tablespoonextra virgin olive oilonly add a the oil at the end to serve, do not mix the oil into the dip.
fresh mint leaves or dill to serve
Instructions
To make cacik, add yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, dry mint, lemon juice, and salt in to a mixing bowl. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Transfer it into a serving bowl. Drizzle some olive oil over the top, and garnish with extra dry and fresh mint. Cacik is now ready to be served and enjoyed.
Notes
Dilute cacik with some water to make chilled yogurt soup.Spice it up with some Aleppo pepper.Cacik will stay fresh for 2-3 days in the fridge in an airtight container.
