📝 Recipe Ingredients and Notes
The shopping list is short and simple! All you need is chicken breast, olive oil, and a few pantry spices to make a quick marinade for these oven-baked chicken skewers—plus the star of the show, my homemade Bang Bang Sauce. It’s creamy, sweet, spicy, and what makes these skewers so addictive.

👩🍳 How to Make Oven-Baked Bang Bang Chicken Skewers

Step 1: In a large bowl, combine olive oil, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Add the chicken pieces to the marinade, mixing well to ensure they are evenly coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 20 minutes, or overnight.

Step 2: Thread the marinated chicken onto skewers.
💡 Pro Tip: If using wooden skewers, soak them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.

Step 3: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Place a baking rack over a foil- or parchment-lined baking sheet (this helps the chicken cook evenly and get that perfect golden-brown color).

Step 4: Arrange the skewers on the rack, making sure they’re not touching. Brush them with some of the bang bang sauce and bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temp of 165°F.
Step 5: Drizzle or brush the skewers with your homemade Bang Bang sauce, then serve immediately with extra sauce on the side!
💡 Recipe Tips
- Marinate for at least 30 minutes (overnight is even better).
- Soak wooden skewers for 30 minutes.
- Don’t overcook the chicken—cook just until it reaches 75°C (165°F).
- Serve with extra Bang Bang Sauce for dipping.

Our family loves skewers (or kebabs, as they’re also called). They’re fun to eat, easy to make, and always a crowd-pleaser. My Marinated Oven-Baked Chicken Skewers made with chicken thighs have become a reader favourite, so I wanted to create a chicken breast version with a little extra kick. Notes
- For even-sized pieces: Slice the chicken breast while it’s still slightly frozen. It makes it much easier to cut neat, even pieces that cook evenly.
